Journal Entry #8: There are 7 basic elements of good design: Line, Shape, Form, Color, Value and Space. For this week’s journal #8, google examples of SPACE as an element of art, and upload a picture of an example of space to your Journal #8 describing how space is used as an element of art.
Element of Design: Space. The Element of Design Space refers to the area within, around, above or below an object or objects. It is important to creating and understanding both two dimensional or three dimensional works of art. With three dimensional art the space things occupy is real as is the space around object. The visual components of color, form, line, shape, space, texture, and value. may be two-or three-dimensional, descriptive, implied, or abstract. Shape An element of art that is two-dimensional, flat, or limited to height and width.
