Journal Entry #13: There are 10 basic principles of good design; CONTRAST, EMPHASIS, PROXIMITY/ALIGNMENT, BALANCE, HIERARCHY, SCALE, HARMONY/UNITY, PATTERN, REPETITION, & RHYTHM/MOVEMENT.

Visual system where things or people are in separate levels of importance refers to the arrangement or presentation of elements in a way that hints importance. In other words, the visual system where things or people are in separates levels of importance which influences the order in which "the human eye perceives what it sees". This order is created by the visual contrast between forms in a field of perception.
